#16: Ice climb
First you have to buy some ice axes and crampons. Just kidding. What I’m talking about here is a really good gem of advice I got when my son was about one from a single mom whose child was about seven. She said when times get stressful she visualizes herself as an ice climber on a huge wall of ice. She never looks up, never looks down. She just loosens one of her feet, steps up and kicks it into the ice. Loosens an ice axe, reaches it up and grabs ice. Next foot. Next arm. Next foot. Next arm. One step at a time. It’s a spin on being “in the moment” that really registers for me. If you are like me and you scratch one thing off your to-do list only to add three more – this tip is for you.
